Cassie Demers of Winslow High School has won our McDonald’s High School Athlete of the Week with 44-percent of the total vote over Garrett Trask of Hermon High School, Michael Norton Jr of Oceanside High School, Garth Berenyi of Bangor High School, Eliza Broughton of George Stevens Academy, and Austin Pelletier of Messalonskee High School.

The goalie of Winslow posted two shutouts over the past week for the Black Raiders in a 3-0 win over Dexter and a 2-0 victory past Mount View.  Over the two wins, Demers posted six total saves and helped hand Dexter their first loss of the year.  During the 2017 season the Winslow side has surrendered just 6 goals in 12 totals games, including eight shutouts.

Demers took home the vote with almost 700 submissions this past week.
