For the eighth time in the last nine years Bangor Christian is Class D North Region champion while the Bangor Rams got knocked out by Lewiston.

Just a couple of the storylines on high school soccer regional championship day.

A 1-0 shutout for Bangor Christian over Central Aroostook of Mars Hill got the Patriots another trip to the state title game on Saturday.

In those seven previous state games, Bangor Christian has come away with a championship.

In the regional final Wednesday afternoon played on the Husson University turf senior Dean Grass scored at 19:56 of the first half and senior goalkeeper Austin Keib made it hold up, stopping all Panthers shots kicked his way.

Bangor Christian is now 15-2 and the Patriots have not allowed a goal in their three playoff games.

The Class D state game is Saturday at 3pm in Hampden
