Hermon track & field standout Zach Beaton finished his brilliant high school career with three more state championships at the Class B meet in Brewer on Saturday.

The UMaine bound Beaton won the 110m hurdles(14:85), the 300m hurdles(40:55) and the long jump(21-4.25). He finished fourth in the triple jump.

Beaton claimed nine state championships in his career for the Hawks.

Old Town senior Emma Hargreaves broke the 36-year-old Penobscot Valley Conference record in the shot put last weekend. Saturday threw tossed the shot put  a shorter distance (38-feet 10.5 inches) to win the state championship. She is now the indoor and outdoor shot put champ.

And to put a bow on her high school career Hargreaves won the discus state title with a throw of 108-01.

The Brewer girls won the Class B state championship with 84 points. York HS was runnerup, followed by Cony, Belfast and Old Town.

York High School won the Class B boys state title. Greely was runnerup, followed by MDI, Belfast and Hermon and Presque Isle tied for fifth place.

The Class A state championship were held in Lewiston. Scarborough HS swept boys and girls titles. Bangor boys and girls both finished in fourth place.

And the Class C state championship was in Farmington and the Orono girls captured another state title. Camille Kohtala set a new state record in the long jump with a distance of 18-00.75. She also won the 200m event.

Sacopee Valley HS won the boys title but Mattanawcook's Cayden Spencer-Thompson won three events - long jump, high jump and triple jump, setting new state records in all three events.
