Black Bears Get #7 Seed & A Bye
The NCAA has made its decisions on FCS Playoff teams and the UMaine Black Bears got the news they wanted to hear. A #7 seed, a first round bye and a second round home game.
That's what happens when you are champs of what many feel is the best FCS conference (CAA) in the country.
The team gathers at the Seadog restuarant in downtown Bangor Sunday afternoon to was the Selection Show and there was a giant roar when the #7 seed came on the board with the UMaine name.
The Bears now wait for the winner of Jacksonville State vs East Tennessee State in the first round. The winner comes to Orono for a December 1st noontime game vs Maine.
How well thought of is the CAA? Well, six teams made the 24-team field. Maine, James Madison, Towson, Elon, Stony Brook and Delaware.
Catch reaction from coach Harasymiak and the players during Monday's 'Morning Pitch Show' on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket beginning at 6am.
