If the Brewer Witches have a shot at making the playoffs they needed to win their final two games . They got one step closer with a 4-2 over Hampden Friday at Bordick Park.Junior pitcher Evan Riva used a dominant curve ball to keep Bronco hitters off balance and got the complete game win. Riva allowed just 3 hits while striking out 6 and walking just 1. Equally impressive was that he threw just 79 pitches over 7 innings of work.

Riva also drove in a run at the plate along with Greg Warmuth, Matt Pushard, and Galem Williamson. Brewer improves to 5-10 with the win and close put the season at Lewiston on Monday.

The Broncos drop to 5-9 but still have a shot at one of the final playoff spots with point worthy games against Lawrence and Edward Little still on the schedule.
