After two years of LTC title game losses, the Bucksport Golden Bucks broke through Friday night, beating Dexter 46-8, to earn the right to play on state championship Saturday.

The Bucks ground game continued to be nearly unstoppable. Freshman Jaxson Gross rushed for 255 yards and three touchdowns. As a team, the Bucks gained over 400 yards running the ball.

Every once in a while, Bucksport will throw the ball and that worked too. A 51-yard TD pass from Brady Findlay to Ty Giberson for a score. A 15-yard pass play to Logan Stanley for another score. And, a halfback option throw by Stanley to Tyler Hallett for another TD.

The 9-0 Bucks play the state game next week at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland at a time to be determined.

Dexter finishes the season at 8-2.
