Another week of outstanding performances in high school sports. But who deserves to be Athlete of the Week? Well, you get to vote right here.
Bryce Lausier, Hampden Academy: The senior hit the 1000 career point mark last week as part of his 32 point game vs Brewer. He also hit the winning basket with just seconds left in the game. Lausier is tops in the KVAC Class A North stats averaging over 28 PPG for the undefeated Broncos.
Darby Barry, Ellsworth HS: The senior sharpshooter hit on a school-record eight three-pointers in last week's win over MCI. He totaled 28 points in the game. Barry has helped his (7-2) Eagles win four games in a row and climb to #3 in the Class B North Heal Points.
Alyssa Elliott, Bangor HS: The Rams hurdler and jumper won three events at the PVC/EMITL meet on Saturday. Elliott won the 55 meter hurdles in 9.74. She also won the long jump(16-08.25) and triple jump(36-03.25) events.
Cooper Leland, Hampden Academy: The senior forward had two goals and an assist in a tie game vs Presque Isle and added another goal vs Houlton. For the season Leland has 11 goals and six assists for 17 points. His Broncos are the only unbeaten team in Class B North with a 6-0-2 record.
