College Hoops: Black Bears Lose In Overtime

The Fordham Rams scored a basket with two seconds left in regulation to tie UMaine 61-61 and then went on to beat the Black Bears in overtime, 72-64. It puts Maine in Sunday's losers bracket game vs either Chattanooga or Middle Tennessee State.

Kaitlyn Downey scored in the paint after rebounding a three-point shot miss to send the game to OT. Then Fordham outscored the Black Bears 11-3 in the extra time.

For Maine, it's a third straight loss that drops the Bears to 7-5.

For Fordham Rams, the win makes them 8-5.

Blanca Millan had 16 points to lead the Bears. Bre Cavanaugh had 27 for Fordam.

At Piscataway, New Jersey: Rutgers Men 70   UMaine Men 55  The Black Bears lost their 12th game of the season, losing to Rutgers from the Big 10 Conference.

Andrew Fleming and Isaiah White each scored 11 to lead the Bears.

Eugene Omoruyi had 17 to lead Rutgers.

Maine falls to 2-12. Rutgers is now 8-5.
