The Bangor Coffee News Comrades are the Zone #1 Region Champions of American Legion baseball after they beat the Brewer Falcons in the final game of the tournament to secure the crown.

Brewer came into the championship round needing to win twice to take the top spot, but were unable to generate enough offense in the second game.  The Falcons took the first game of the afternoon from the Winkin Complex by a score of 9-4, while the Comrades held on with a 7-4 win in the second game.

With the win, Bangor will open up the state tournament from the Winkin Complex on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m., while Brewer will be the runners-up representative for the zone and will play at 7 p.m.
