State Championship Saturday for high school field hockey has been pushed back a week because of the forecast that calls for heavy rain.

The Maine Principals' Assocation (MPA) says the three titles games will be played November 3rd at a site to-be-determined. The Winkin Complex at Husson University in Bangor was going to the be the site by will not be able to host next Saturday because of a home football game.

Perhaps the biggest storyline when they do play the championship games is the incredible Skowhegan program in Class A under coach Paula Doughty. The Indians have won 18 straight regional titles. Go back to their first state title in 1991 and there have been 24 regional titles and 18 state championships (see below).
