WEEK 2: Cast Your Vote for High School Athlete of Week [VOTE]
Week two is complete on the high school sports scene and so who should be considered for Student-Athlete of the Week? Check out the nominations. You may cast your vote at the bottom of the post. Voting ends at noon on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Bucksport freshman running back Jaxson Gross rushed for 212 yards and three touchdowns in the Bucks 43-7 win over Dexter. Gross carried the ball 30 times as the Bucks improved to 2-0.
Hermon High School's Wyatt Gogan switched from wide receiver to quarterback and it's working just fine. In Friday night's 54-27 win over Waterville, Gogan rushed for 256 yards and four touchdowns. He also threw two TD passes.
Camden Hills HS senior Kristina Kelly scored three goals against Brewer in a 9-0 win and three more vs Messalonskee in a 6-1 victory. The Windjammers are the defending Class A state champs and have started out 3-0 this. Kelly has seven goals and three assists. She has scored 117 goals in here four year career.
Foxcroft quarterback Logan Martin had his second big week in LTC play. The senior rushed for 95 yards and three TDs. He went 5-for-8, 115 yards with a TD in the passing department. And, Martin also caught a pass for a touchdown in the win over Mt. View.
