Foxcroft Ponies Outlast Central Lady Devils [GIRLS]

The Foxcroft Academy Ponies held off the Central Lady Devils Friday night for a quarterfinal win in the final game of the evening Friday night at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

No. 3 Foxcoft came out running and built a 12-4 lead after one quarter, but No. 6 Central regrouped in the second quarter and pulled within two points at 23-21 at the half.

The game remained close until the fourth quarter, when Foxcroft pulled away to a 52-44 win and a trip to the semifinal round on Wednesday.

Foxcroft was led by Abigail Simpson, with 19 points. Abbi Bourget added 11.

Central's Sydney Allen scored 23 points for the Lady Devils

Foxcroft improves to 15-4. Central's season ends at 13-6.

Foxcroft will play the winner of Saturday morning's contest between the No. 2 Presque Isle Wildcats and the No. 7 John Bapst Crusaders.
