The Greely Rangers held off a late charge form the Hampden Academy Broncos to claim the Class A crown at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.

The Broncos' late-game charge came one point short, as they fell to Greely 47-46 Thursday night.

With the game tied at 46, senior Shane DeWolfe hit a free throw for the Rangers with five seconds left on the clock.

A desperation thee pointer from Hampden fell short at the buzzer.

The Broncos fell behind early,  but finished the first half strong on a 5-0 run to pull the score to 29-19 at the break. The Broncos chipped away a the lead and tied the game with one minute to play.

Greely's DeWolfe finished with 11 points and was named the McDonald's player of the game.

Kory Winch led the Broncos with 15 points.

Greely finishes the season undefeated at 22-0. Hampden finishes at 20-2.
