Summer vacation is now over for high school athletes as the fall season got underway on Monday for all sports around the state.Student athletes were greeted with one of the hottest days of the summer and caused some coaches to adjust their schedules. The Bangor high School football team held its first practice in the morning and changed their second practice for the afternoon to 5 o'clock to help beat the heat.

Monday also marked the first practice as head coach of the Rams for Alan Mosca who replaces Mark Hackett. Hackett stepped down after last season following 15 years at the helm of the Bangor program.

Teams have between three to five weeks to prepare for their first games of the season.
