A basketball doubleheader sweep for the Hampden Broncos over the Brewer Witches Thursday night in Class A North action.

In the girls game, the Broncos won 49-40 for their 11th win of the year. 6-foot-3 senior Bailey Donovan was in and out of foul trouble all night but still scored 21 points and hauled down double digit rebounds.

Hampden led by as many as 13 points in the second half.

Brewer would not go away and cut the deficit to six late in the game. Becca Gideon led the Witches with 22.

Hampden is now 11-1. Brewer falls to 3-9.

In the boys matchup, the backcourt duo of Bryce Lausier and Kory Winch led the Broncos to a 62-46 victory over Brewer.

Winch scored a game-high 21 points, while Lausier scored 17. Mikey Raye chipped in 9.

After suffering a 71-39 defeat against Hampden on Dec. 21, Brewer was much more competitive on Thursday night. The Witches have played well as of late, winning four of their last five heading into Thursday's game.

Trevor Pearson and Dylan Huff scored 9 points apiece for Brewer, while Aaron Newcomb added 7.

Hampden improves to 10-2, while Brewer drops to 5-7.
