
Husson Woman’s Basketball Falls to #12 Bates 98-50
The Husson Woman's Basketball Team fell to #12 Bates 98-50 on Tuesday night, November 18th at Newman Gymnasium on the Husson University campus.
Bates led from the beginning, leading 26-16 at the end of the 1st Quarter, 54-26 at the Half and 80-41 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.
Bates had 4 players in double figues, led by Gabby Bellacqua with 18 points. Sophie Spoter had 14 points, Ava James 12 points and Elsa Daulerio 10 points. Former John Bapst Crusader Claire Gaetani had 6 point in 12 minutes, ripping down 4 rebounds and had 1 steal and 2 assists..
For Husson, Lilly Roy (Wisdom High School) had 15 points. Saige Evans (Old Town High School) had 7 points and Abby Radel (Ellsworth High School) had 6 points.
Bates outrebounded Husson 41-23.
Bates owned the paint, scoring 50 points in the paint while Husson had 22 points in the paint.
Bates shot 60 percent from the field while going 11-18 from beyond the 3-point arc and were a nearly perfect 9-10 from the free throw line.
Husson shot 31.5 percent from the field while going 5-16 from beyond the 3-point arc and were a nearly perfect 11-12 from the free throw line.
Bates is now 2-0 on the season while Husson is 1-1.
Husson will play at Thomas College on Friday night, November 21st at Thomas College. They don't return to play at home until Tuesday, December 6th when they will host the University of Maine Fort Kent at 6 p.m.
