
Husson Women Nip Thomas College 53-52
Former Ellsworth Eagle, Abby Radel hit a jumper with 1:08 left to play to break a 51-51 tie and give the Husson University Women's Basketball Team a 53-52 win over the Thomas College Terriers in Waterville on Friday, November 21st.
Husson led 19-13 at the end of the 1st Quarter, and 29-22 at the end of the 1st Half. Thomas outscored Husson 16-9 at the end of the 3rd Quarter to tie the game at 38-38.
Lily Roy had a team-high 13 points for Husson. Saige Evans finished with 11 points and Radel had 8 points. Danielle Dow was the leading rebounder for the Eagles with 9 boards.
Husson shot 31.8 percent from the field and just 3-24 from beyond the 3-point arc. They were 8-12 from the free throw line.
Thomas was led by Pryelle Kesse-Beda with 19 points and 12 rebounds for the double-double. Roxy Dagostino had 10 points and former MDI Trojan Elena Alderman had 8 points.
The Terriers shot 32.1 percent from the field and were 4-16 from beyond the 3-point arc. They were 12-16 from the free throw line.
Thomas is now 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the North Atlantic Conference.
Husson is 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the North Atlantic Conference.
Husson plays at Lesley University on Saturday afternoon, November 22nd at 3 p.m.
