Cooper Flagg Gets High Praise From Former Celtic Kevin Garnett

When it comes to Cooper Flagg, anything is possible!

On his Instagram page KG Certified, former Celtics great Kevin Garnett had some great things to say about our future hoops superstar from Maine, Cooper Flagg.

When it comes to being a leader with all the exposure he's gotten in high school, he's used to leading a team, he's used to the attention, he's used to walking to the gym and people knowing who he is. That superstardom, that follows you. You have to have that to be on a team... Cooper, I ain't really heard him speak a lot but when I watch him play; he's got superstar around him. I can see kids wanting to be like that and play like that.

Flagg, 17, is from Newport, Maine. He attended Nokomis High School for one year before transferring to Montverde Academy in Florida.

Flagg has earned several honors including being named Gatorade Player of the Year in March. The award is given to the country's top high school athlete.

Flagg, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, is attending Duke University. He recently signed a shoe deal with New Balance, which has roots in Maine.

Flagg's Duke Blue Devils will host the University of Maine Black Bears on Monday, Nov. 4 as part of its 2024-25 non-conference schedule.
