University of Maine women's basketball assistant coach Jhasmin Player is leaving Orono to join the coaching staff at the University of Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles.
Player will serve as an assistant coach under head coach Charity Elliott.

"I am sooooo thankful for all that Maine has taught me," Player wrote on Twitter Wednesday. "I will FOREVER be grateful for the LOVE the entire STATE shared with me"
During her collegiate career, Player helped lead her team to four NCAA tournament appearances and a 2009 Big 12 tournament championship. She was a Big 12 All-Tournament team selection in 2009 and also earned Big 12 All-Defensive Team and Second-Team All-Conference honors.
