The Maine Men's Basketball Team fell to Quinnipiac on Sunday, November 16th as the Black Bears played their 1st game at The Pit .

Although it wasn't the result that the nearly 1400 fans were hoping for, there were a couple of things that were apparent

  1. The crowd was definitely rooting for Ace Flagg. He came in off the bench and wa met with cheers. His defense was up-tempo, as he dove for the ball numerous times, and he pressured the Bobcats. He had a co-team high of 6 rebounds, and 2 assists and 1 steal in 18 minutes.
  2. Keelan Steele electrified the crowd with a couple of massive dunks in the 1st Half.

Maine shot 39.3 percent from the field and were 6-21 from beyond the 3-point arc. The were 14-21 from the free throw line.

TJ Biel led Maine with 17 points, while Keelan Steel had 14 points. Ryan Mabrey finished with 11 points.

Maine was outrebounded 47-32

The Black Bears led 36-28 at the end of the 1st Half. Quinnipiac outscored Maine 18-8 in the 1st 10 minutes of the 2nd Half.

Quinnipiac is now 2-2 while Maine is 0-4.

The Black Bears play at Merrimack on Wednesday, November 19th The game tips off at 7 p.m. Join Ron Lisnet for the call of the game with the pregame starting at 6:30 on 92.9 The Ticket. Maine returns home to The Pit on Sunday, November 23rd when they will host Brown at 2 p.m.
