Maine Men’s Basketball Falls to George Washington 67-47
The Maine Men's Basketball Team fell to George Washington University 67-47 in Washington D.C. to open the 2025-26 season on Monday night, November 3rd.
George Washington led 29-25 at the end of the 1st Half, but outscored Maine 38-22 in the 2nd Half, for the 20 point lead.
Maine shot just 16-51 from the field and were just 5-22 from beyond the 3-point arc, while GW was 27-59 from the field, and 2-20 from beyond the 3-point arc. George Washington dominated in the paint, scoring 48 points while Maine had just 18 points. Maine was outrebounded 46-23.
TJ Biel was the leading scorer for Maine, finishing the game with 13 points.
Ace Flagg, coming off the bench played 29 minutes and finished with 10 points. He was 4-8 shooting from the field, and 0-2 from beyond the 3-point arc. He was a perfect 2-2 from the free throw line. He finished with 3 rebounds and led the team with 4 steals.
Emmit Byter from Old Town played 3 minutes.
George Washington is 1-0 while Maine is 1-0.
