The #8 Maine Black Bears thumped Vermont 7-0 at The Alfond on Friday night, November 14th.

Maine took a 1-0 lead in the 1st Period, when Sully Scholle scored with 6:29 gone, assisted by Miguel Marques and Jeremy Langlois.

Maine lit the lamp 4 times in the 2nd Period.

With just 43 seconds gone, Jeremy Langlois scored, assisted by Miguel Marques and Frank Djurasevic.

Josh Nadeau scored the 1st of his 2 goals on the night on a power play with 12:36 gone, assisted by Max Scott and Brandon Holt.

Then, just 25 seconds later, Miguel Marques scored, assisted by Sully Scholle and Loic Usereau.

Finally, Owen Fowler scored on a power play, just 2:51 later, assisted by Marques (his 3rd assist of the night) and Charlie Russell.

In the 3rd Period, Justin Poirier scored his 10th goal of the season, assisted by Nadeau and Holt. The goal was challenged by Vermont, as they claimed that Poirier was offside, but after a lengthy video review the call on the ice of a goal was confirmed.

The final goal of the night was scored by Josh Nadeau, his 2nd of the game with 3:17 left to play, assisted by Jaden Lipinski and Jeremy Langlois.

Maine outshot Vermont 32-29.

Maine was 2-5 on the power play, while UVM was 0-2

Albin Boija turned away 32 shots for Maine to record the shutout.

Maine is now 7-3-1 overall and 4-1-0 in Hockey East. Vermont is 3-6-0 overall and 1-4-0 in Hockey East.
