The Maine Football Team won their 5th straight game, beating Stony Brook on blustery Saturday, November 1st at Morse Field on Military Appreciation Day.

Maine roared out to a 14-0 lead in the 1st Quarter.

Molayo Irefin caught a 11 yard pass from Carter Peevy with 7:58 left in the 1st Quarter. Samuel Tremblay's point-after-kick was good.

Then with 5:36 left in the 1st Quarter, Sincere Baines carried the ball in from 11 yards out for the touchdown. Tremblay's kick was good.

Stony Broook scored on a 15 yard pass and Maine led 14-7 at the end of the 1st Half.

In the 3rd Quarter, Maine scored 2 more touchdowns

Carter Peevy ran in from 1 yard out with 10:44 left in the 3rd Quarter and Tremblay's kick was good.

Then with 8:21 left, Daniel Batch caught a 14 yard pass from Peevy. Tremblay's kick was good, and Maine led 28-7.

Stony Brook scored on a 1 yard run with 1:49 left and the Black Bears led 28-14 at the end of the 3rd Quarter

Stony Brook scored their final touchdown with 40 seconds left to play. Maine recovered the onside kick to secure the win.

Maine outgained Stony Brook in total yardage 392-302. Maine outrushed Stony Brook 204-3 as the Black Bear Defense totally shutdown Stony Brook's running attack.

Maine is now 5-4 and 4-1 in the CAA. Stony Brook is now 4-5 overall and 2-3 in the CAA.

Maine is on the road at Hampton, in Hampton, Virginia on Saturday, November 8th. The Black Bears will play their final regular home game of the season, on Saturday, November 15th against Rhode Island.

Maine's Carter Peevy was 14-25 passing for 188 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

Sincere Baines was Maine's leading rusher with 12 carries for 86 yards and a touchdown. Peevy carried the ball 9 times for 51 yards.

Aaron Arterage caught the ball 1 time for 44 yards. Rashawn Marshall had 3 catches for 40 yards, while Molayo Irefin had 3 catches for 31 yards and Scott Woods had 3 catches for 23 yards.

Defensively Anthony Ferelli had 16 tackles with 6 solo and 10 assists. Aidan Kaler had 13 tackles with 4 solos and 9 assists and Chayce Chalmers had 12 tackles with 2 solos and 10 assists.
