NAC Tourney: Eagles Begin With Win [SCORES]

The #1 seed Husson baseball team opens the North Atlantic Conference tournament with a 10-1 win over UMaine Farmington and moves on in the winner's bracket for Saturday.

The Eagles broke open a tight 4-1 game with three runs in the 6th inning, one in the 7th inning and two more in the 8th.

Kobe Rogerson, Ethan Stoddard and Alex Chapman all drove in three runs.

Both Rogerson and Conor Maguire delivered three hits.

Four Eagles pitchers worked to hold the Beavers to seven hits and just one run. Freshman Brandon Brunell pitched the first 5.1 innings to get the win.

WATERVILLE: The Husson softball team also scored an opening day NAC tourney win, beating UMaine Presque Isle 9-6.

The #2 seed Eagles trailed 6-4 until a five-run 6th inning. The rally was highlighted by a two-run home run from Olivia Smith.

Jen Jones got the win in the circle, giving up six runs on six hits. She struck out nine.
