The NHL Florida Panthers have fired head coach Bob Boughner and quickly hired Joel Quenneville to replace him. So what about Panther associate head coach, former UMaine Black Bears defenseman Jack Capuano?

The Panthers team has released a statement saying Boughner and assistant coach Paul McFarland are out. But there is no mention of Capuano.

The former Black Bears was head coach of the NY Islanders for seven years. When he was fired two years ago, the Panthers brought him in as associate head coach under Boughner.

The coaching picture should clear up later today when the Panthers introduce Quenneville to the Florida media. He coached the Chicago Blackhawks to three Stanley Cups and is second on the all-time NHL coach win list.
