UMaine kicker Kenny Doak is Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Special Teams Player of the Week and why not.
His school record-tying 52-yard field goal as time expired Saturday evening gave the Black Bears a 13-10 win.
Doak had kicked a 30-yard field goal earlier in the game.
The sophomore from Pennsylvania is 4-for-7 in field goals this season.
Jack Leggett, who played both football and baseball at Maine, kicked his 52-yard field goal in 1975 vs Delaware. Leggett went on to become a Hall of Fame baseball coach at Clemson.
CAA Defensive Player of the Week: Linebacker Deshawn Stevens is Defensive Player of the Week. The sophomore from Ontario had eight tackles vs Villanova, including two sacks and 2.5 tackles for a loss.
