Riots Vs Coyotes On 92.9 The Ticket
New Orono Red Riots coach Ed Kohtala has his team off to a 3-0 start to the season and next on the schedule is a matchup with Old Town tonight.
It's the second game of tonight's Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket Thursday doubleheader. The Riots and Coyotes girls teams play at 6:30pm followed by the boys matchup.
Kohtala is his Riots own wins over Ellsworth, John Bapst and Winslow. That gives Orono enough Heal Points to sit #1 in Class B North.
Veteran coach Tim Thornton coaches the (1-3) Old Town Coyotes. They are coming off a six point loss to John Bapst Tuesday night.

The girls matchup features John Donato's Red Riots against Old Town. Donato is in his second year at Orono but is the winningest active girls coach in the state with 525 victories in 40+ years of coaching. The (1-2) Riots are led by senior Lauren Melanson, averaging 13 points a game.
The (3-1) Coyotes are coming off a 53-43 over John Bapst last night. Sophomore Hannah Richards scored 24 points in that game. Her mother, Heather, is the head coach. The Coyotes are a very young team that is off to a fast start to the season.
