Sheffield Named A-P All-American

University of Maine senior linebacker Sterling Sheffield is a big reason why the Black Bears have the #1 run defense in the nation and now he's been selected to the Associated Press All-America Team.

Named to the AP Second Team, Sheffield has 79 tackles, 9.5 sacks, seven pass breakups, an intereception and three fumble recoveries.

Sheffield was named CAA First Team All-Conference and was on the Watch List for the Buck Buchanan Award for FCS top defensive player in the nation.

NOTE: Sheffield and the Black Bears play in the national semi-final game vs Eastern Washington University on Saturday afternoon.
