Skowhegan Girls Win State Class A Girls Gold Ball Beat Greely 60-46 [STATS]

The Skowhegan River Hawks Girl''s Basketball Team are the State Class A Champions, after beating Greely Saturday afternoon 60-46 at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.

Skowhegan led 20-15 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 30-21 at the end of the 1st Half. The River Hawks led 42-32 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Skowhegan had 3 players in double-figures. Jaycie Christopher had 23 points, Callaway LePage 17 points and Aryana Lewis 12 points. Skowhegan was 17-34 from the free throw line and had 5 3-pointers. Jaycie Christopher and Aryana Lewis each had 2 3-pointers and Maddy Morris had a 3-pointer.

Chelsea Gravier had a game-high 32 points for Greely. Greely was 11-13 and had 7 3-pointers, 5 by Gravier. Sophia Ippolito and Grier Wright each had a 3-pointer.

Skowhegan ends the season with a perfect 22-0 record and the gold ball!

Greely ends the season with a 16-5 record and runner-up plaque.
