Summer Solstice Brings Strawberry Moon To Maine

Today (June 20) is the longest day of the year, but that's not all. Something quite rare will also happen on this night.

This year, for the first time since 1967, the full moon coincides with the summer solstice.

The June full moon is called the strawberry moon, named by Native Americans as a reminder to pick the fruit.

Now, if you miss it tonight, you have quite a wait ahead of you. The next time the summer solstice and the full moon coincide isn't until 2062.
