Fort Kent's Austin Theriault will start tonight's NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series race in Richmond, Virginia from the 34th position.

At pole qualifying Friday night, by the luck of a draw, Theriault was the first car to attempt to get the pole position. Driving the #51 car this week for Rick Ware Racing, he ran a lap of 120.919 mph around the short track in Richmond.

Brad Kesolowski won the pole with a speed of 127.185.

Earlier in the week, Theriault and Bangor Savings Back announced an extension in their partnership. BSB will be in selected NASCAR races and an associate sponsor in others during the rest of the racing season.

Tonight's Richmond race will be his fourth NASCAR Cup Series race.

NOTE: Theriault and the #51 car will be one of three Rick Ware Racing Team cars in the field. JJ Yeley drives the #51 car and stars 33rd. Spencer Boyd will drive the #53 car and will start 37th...There are 38 cars in the field.
