The first game of the second half of the season for the UMaine hockey team turned out to be a frustrating 1-0 loss to the Princeton Tigers Friday night.

The Black Bears put 40 shots on Princeton goalie Ryan Ferland and he stopped all of them, including some big one in the final moments when Maine had a two-man advantage in an attempt to get the game tied.

Jeremy Swayman stopped 27 of 28 shots for the Bears.

The only goal was a Princeton powerplay goals in the second period...

NOTE: UMaine drops to 5-8-2 while Princeton improves to 4-8-2...The teams play game two of the weekend series tonight.
