Two Black Bears Win Conference Weekly Awards

UMaine Senior Forward Tim Doherty is the Hockey East Co-Player of the Week.  He had two goals and two assists for the Black Bears as the picked up a win and a tie in the weekend set against Nebraska-Omaha.

UMaine Women's basketball player Anne Simon is the America East Conference Rookie of the Week.  This is her second time winning the award this season.  She set a new career high with 23 points and 8 rebounds in the Black Bears win against Drexel, and she averaged 17.7 points, and 6 rebounds as UMaine went 2-1, including splitting the first two league games of the year.  Simon shot 57.9 percent from the floor and 36.4% from threes.
