me-bb-hi-5The University of Maine baseball team improved its America East record to 4-2 after taking two out of three games at Hartford.The Bears took the lone game on Saturday before dropping Sunday's opener by a 7-6 score in 9 innings. In the series finale Maine got a solid start from Mike Conelly who pitched 3-hit shutout ball over 5 innings to help the Bears get a 7-2 win. Alex Calbic and Brian Doran each knocked in 2 runs to pace the Maine offense.

After two weeks of play the Bears stand in first place in the conference standings with their 4-2 record.

The UMaine softball team also took 2 out of three over the weekend at UMBC. After losing game one, the Bears came back with wins of 11-7 and 7-6 scores.
