The UMaine softball swept a doubleheader against Hartford while the baseball team split a twinbill down at UMBC.

At Kessock Field in Orono, Aleixis Bogdanovich won both games in the circle. In game one she pitched a two hit shutout and struck out 12 in Maine's 8-0 win.

Felicia Lennon hit a grand slam in the 6th inning to end the game.

In game two, NIkki Byron had the game winning walk-off hit in the bottom on the 7th to give the Bearsa 5-4 win.

UMaine is now 7-4 in America East, 18-17 overall.

AT UMARYLAND BALTIMORE COUNTY:  The UMaine baseball team split with the Retrievers, winning the first game in 12 innings 6-5. Luke Morrill had the game winning hit.

In game two, the Bears lost 3-2 and made former Bangor HS pitcher Justin Courtney a tough luck loser. He pitched all six innings, giving up three runs. UM's offense could muster only five hits.

The Bears are now 5-8 AE, 15-21 overall.
