The University of Maine men’s basketball team announced three new players will be joining the team this Fall to play for the Black Bears

Among those listed were guard Celio Araujo, and forwards Miks Antoms and Duncan Douglas.  According to the release all three players have signed their National Letters of Intent to UMaine.


Douglas joins Maine from Santa Monica College where he spent the last season.  The 6’6” forward was a second team all-state in his senior year playing high school basketball in Texas with Coronado High School.  Along with Araujo, Douglas will also join the Black Bears as a junior with two years left to play in his college career.


The three recruits will join Vincent Eze, Andrew Fleming, and Ilker Err, among others that will make up the 2017-18 edition of the team. Verbal Commits announced that senior Marko Pirovic is planning to transfer from the team with one season of eligibility left, while Austin Howard also announced his plan to leave the program according to WVII.
