UMaine Hoops Lose Road Games
UMaine basketball teams took it on the chin in road games last night. The women's team lost to Wisconsin Green Bay 70-39. The men's team lost at North Texas in overtime 74-63.
Wisconsin Green Bay 70 UMaine Women 39: The (2-2) Black Bears were in a close game for the first half but the Phoenix outscored Maine 46-21 in the second half to put this one away.
It was one of those nights for the Bears, shooting just 30% from the field, they got out rebounded 41-22.
Blanca Millan was the leading scorer with just 11 points.
The (2-2) Phoenix had three players in double digit scoring.
The Black Bears play at a tournament in Annapolis, Maryland this weekend.
North Texas 74 UMaine Men 63 (OT): The Black Bears went on a 13-4 run in the final two minutes of regulation to tie the Mean Green. But overtime was a different story. North Texas outscored Maine 14-3 to stay unbeaten.
Isaiah White had 22 points to lead (0-5) Maine.
(7-0) North Texas had four players in double digits. Zach Simmons led with 24.
The Bears play at Quinnipiac on Sunday.
