A big Saturday for UMaine Black Bear basketball teams. The women's team beats Albany to get to 4-0 in America East play. And, the men's gets a road victory at Albany for a first AE win.

UMaine Women 76  UAlbany 65: Blanca Millan scored 27 points and the Black Bears are off to their best start in conference play since the 2003-04 season at 4-0 (11-6 overall).

Things got a little scary for Maine after grabbing a 21 point lead early in the fourth quarter, the Great Danes came storming back to within seven points in the final minute.

Parise Rossignol scored 20 for the Bears and Tanesha Sutton added 15

UMaine Men 66  UAlbany 62: Sergio El-Darwich matched his career high, scoring 26 points as coach Richard Barron and his Black Bears get their first American East win and just their third overall win on the season.

The Bears had a big lead only to see the Great Danes go on a 16-2 run to pull close.

Isaiah White scored 13 for Maine and Andrew Fleming add 12.

The Bears improve to 1-2 in AE and 3-15, Albany falls to 0-2 and 5-12.
