University of Maine softball pitcher Annie Kennedy has been named America East Pitcher of the Week after tossing 11.2 innings of shutout ball of last week.

The senior pitched 8 scoreless innings against Sacred Heart, allowing three hits while striking out 8.

Kennedy pitched in relief against Rhode Island, striking out three with no walks over 3.2 innings of work.

It's the second time this season that she has earned the league's Pitcher of the Week honors. She won her first award on Feb. 27.

Kennedy wasn't the only Black Bear pitcher to pick up an award this week. Freshman Kyleigh O'Donnell was named America East's Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row.
