WEEK 11: Who is the High School Athlete of the Week? [VOTE]

Week 11 on the high school sports calendar brought us some amazing performances on the gridiron. You get to vote on four of the best efforts in our Athlete of the Week online voting.

MCI Junior QB Ryan Friend:  In Saturday's 49-21 win over WInslow for the Class C North title, Friend led the Huskies with 185 rushing yards and a TD. He also passed the ball for 104 yards and a TD.

Mt Ararat Senior RB Holden Brannan:  The Eagles captured the state's first 8-man football championship, beating Old Orchard Beach 52-25. Brannan rushed for 341 yards and seven toucdowns. He scored from 58 yards, 40 yards, 64 yards, 44 yards, 26 yards, 4 yards and 67 yards.

MCI Senior FB Isaac Buzzell:  In the Huskies regional final win over Winslow, the lineman-turned-runner Buzzell rushed for 134 and three TDs on 20 carries. He was also a major factor on the defensive line for MCI.

Bucksport Freshman RB Jaxson Gross:  The Golden Bucks defeated Dexter 46-8 to win the Class D North LTC title on Friday night. Gross carried the ball 35 times for 255 yards and three TDs. He scored from 4 yards, 19 yards and one yard.
