The Winkin Sports Complex at Husson University has finally completed the new turf phase of the project.

The new green field turf has been put in place by the university and is entering the final phase of the project when the fence is installed on the right and left field lines.  The process at Husson started immediately after the baseball season wrapped up for the Eagles in May and the new turf features additional padding to try and lessen impact on brain trauma as a result of tackles in football.

The field will be used on July 22nd for Zone 1 Region Legion baseball, according to Husson Director of Athletics Frank Pergolizzi.  The renovations cost the university roughly $1 million according to an report from the Bangor Daily News.
