Alex Costedio of Nokomis has been named First National Bank High School Athlete of the Week after his three-touchdown performance against Waterville last Saturday.

Costedio won with 36 percent of the vote.

He rushed for 98 yards in the Warriors' 26-21 triumph.

Costedio scored on a one-yard run in the first quarter and a two-yard run in the third. He added a go-ahead nine-yard touchdown catch with 3:41 remaining in the game.

Other nominees this week included Seth Bussell and Tucker Sharples, both of MCI, Matt Spooner of Foxcroft Academy and Carter Tolmasoff of Bucksport.

MDI's Elijah Joyce, Winslow's Alex Demers and Hermon's Garrett Trask have also won Athlete of the Week honors during the 2018 fall sports season.
