Maine's Matt Mulligan worked out for the Baltimore Ravens in hopes of landing a NFL tight end job. Last week Mulligan was signed, then two days later, released by the Patriots.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Mulligan and another former Pats tight end Jake Ballard worked out for the Ravens. Sources say the audition went well but don't look for the Ravens to make any immediate roster moves.

Baltimore could be looking for help because their two tight ends (Ed Dickson and Dallas Clark) combined for five dropped catches in the season opener.

Mulligan has played in 50 NFL games, with the NY Jets and St.Louis Rams. He was one of the last cuts in the Green Bay Packer camp before the season. Two days after being released there Mulligan signed with the Patriots.

Mulligan is an Enfield, Maine native. He played his high school sports at PVHS and his college sports at Husson U then at UMaine.
