The WPI Engineers spoiled the home opener for the Husson Eagles, scoring the first 24 points of the game and beating the Eagles 31-12.

In the first half, WPI got three rushing touchdowns from tailback Sean McAllen. He finished the game with 83 yards on 21 carries.

The Engineers dominated the run game over the Eagles 217 yards to 53 yards.

The lack of the run game and the inability to get the defense off the field on third down proved costly to Husson. WPI finished the game converting 46% of the time on third down.

Things settled down for the Eagles in the second half as WPI scored just one late game TD.

Eagles QB David Morrision finished 25-for-41, 265 yards, two TDs and an interception.

WR Tyler Halls had his second straight 100+ yards game, finishing with seven catches for 114 yards and a TD.

WPI moves to 3-0. Husson drops to 0-2 and play its final non-conference game next week at SUNY Morrisville.
