The Husson Eagles opening day in their new Commonwealth Coast Conference turns out to be a good one. A 28-12 win at Becker College, giving the Eagles and new head coach Nat Clark the first win of the season.

The (1-3) Eagles have been trying to find someone to ignite the running game and former Lewiston High School standout Garrett Poussard did just that. The sophomore had carried the ball one time in the first three games but vs Becker ran 31 times for 159 yards and two touchdowns.

Senior QB David Morrison was a solid 14-for-18 passing, 146 yards with two TDs and one interception. His TD throws went to Patrick Cullen (30 yards) and Tyler Halls (15 yards).

The Husson defense held the Becker offense to 274 yards and forced three fumbles, two were recovered by the Eagles.

Husson now plays three straight CCC games at home starting next Saturday vs Curry.
