Falcons Punch Ticket To States

The Brewer Falcons have earned the first of two spots available for next week's State Legion Baseball Tournament. The Falcons beat Bangor 6-5 in Friday night's winners bracket game.

Brewer(15-5) entered the Zone 1 tournament as the #3 seed and are now 2-0. The Falcons play in Sunday's 1pm championship game.

The Bangor Comrades(17-3) took a 5-2 lead in the sixth inning Friday night but Brewer scored three times in the ninth to earn the 6-5 victory. A Logan Rogerson 2-run triple was the key hit.

Bangor meets #2 seed Trenton in an elimination game tonight at 7pm. The winner gets the second and final spot in the state tourney. Plus, the winner gets to take on Brewer Sunday for the zone title.

Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket live coverage of the Maine State Legion Tournament begins Wednesday at 10am when the Zone 1 winner plays in the first game of the tourney.

All game are at the John Winkin Baseball Complex at Husson University in Bangor.
