Schenck Wolverines Defeat Shead In D North QF [GIRLS]

The Schenck Wolverines earned a spot in the regional semifinals after defeating the Shead Tigerettes Monday night in Bangor.

After trailing 4-0 early in the first quarter, No. 4 Schenck assumed the lead and never relinquished it on the way to a 56-38 quarterfinal win at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Senior Samantha Falone led Schenck with 15 points, including three 3-pointers. Junior Cassie Russell and senior Julia Stanley each had 12 points. >>FULL STORY>>

Top-seed Woodland Handles Van Buren To Advance [BOYS]

The top-seed Woodland Dragons punched their ticket to the semifinals with a convincing win over the Van Buren Crusaders Monday afternoon at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

The Dragons, the defending regional champions, combined a potent offense and stifling defense to roll to a 76-29 win over the No. 8 Crusaders.

Captain Chris Plissey led the Dragons with 15 points. Plissey, a junior, was one of 10 Dragons in the scoring column. Alex Morrison had 13 points and senior Gavin Gardner scored 11 points. Sabree Phelps added nine points. >>FULL STORY>>

Schenck Wolverines Defeat Easton In North Quarterfinal [BOYS]

The Schenck Wolverines kept up a furious pace in their quarterfinal contest with the Easton Bears, coming away with a 69-52 win Monday afternoon in Bangor.

Sophomore Tyrone Davis led the Wolverines with 33 points -- including 21 points in the first half -- in his tournament debut at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Sophomore Isaac Adams scored seven points for Schenck. Juniors Colby Hannan and Andrew Goulas each added six points.

Deer Isle-Stonington Powers Past Ashland [GIRLS]

The Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners defeated the Ashland Hornets Monday morning to earn a semifinal bid in Class D North.

The Mariners turned in a strong second half to power past the No. 7 Hornets 57-28 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

After a back-and-forth first quarter, the Mariners extended the lead to 24-15 at the half. The No. 2 Mainers pushed the pace in the second half on their way to the win.

Woodland Dragons Defeat Katahdin To Advance [GIRLS]

The Woodland Lady Dragons defeated the Katahdin Cougars Monday morning at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor in the first Class D quarterfinal match-up of the day.

No. 3 Woodland led from start to finish on their way to a 59-33 win and an ticket to the Class D North semifinals
