The #8 Maine Men's Hockey Team fell to the Vermont Catamounts 2-1 on Saturday night, November 15th despite outshooting  Vermont 44-28.

Vermont took a 1-0 lead on a power play goal with 9:02 gone in the 1st Period.

Maine finally tied the game with 5:16 left to play in the 2nd Period on a goal by William Gerrior assisted by Lukas Peterson.

The Catamounts took the lead with 1:29 gone in the 3rd Period.

Maine pulled Albin Boija from goal with 2 minutes left in the final period, but despite the 6-4 advantage couldn't score despite excellent opportunities.

Maine was 0-3 on the powerplay while Vermont was 1-4.

Axel Mangbo stopped 35 shots for Vermont before Aiden Wright played the final 5:12, stopping 8 shots. Boija stopped 26 shots for Maine.

Vermont is now 4-6-0 overall and 2-4-0 in Hockey East.

Maine is 7-4-1 overall and 4-2-0 in Hockey East.

Maine travels to Boston College next weekend. They will play the Eagles on Friday, November 21st at 7 p.m. and then on the 22nd also at 7 p.m. Join Jon Shields for the call of the game with the pregame starting each night at 6:30 p.m. on 92.9 The Ticket.
