The #12 Maine Men's Hockey Team never led in Friday night's contest until Brandon Holt scored the game-winner, as Maine beat #5 Boston University 5-4 in front of 4980 fans at the Alfond Arena on Friday, October 31st.

BU took a quick 1-0 lead, with 3:15 gone in the 1st Period, before the Black Bears tied the game just 4 seconds later when Justin Poirier scored, assisted by Jeremy Langlois and Frank Djurasevic.

But BU took a 2-1 lead into the 1st intermission, scoring at 8:28, on a power play.

Maine tied the score with 7:01 gone in the 2nd Period, when Sully Scholle scored, assisted by Owen Fowler and Miguel Marques.

But, BU took a 3-2 lead scoring with 5:33 left to play.

Maine tied the game at 3-3 going into the 2nd intermission when Owen Fowler scored with 3:13 left to play, assisted by  Miguel Marques and Sully Scholle.

BU again took the lead in the 3rd Period, scoring with 4:05 gone.

But, true to form, Maine tied the game with 7 minutes gone, as Poirier scored his 2nd goal of the night, assisted by Jeremy Langlois and Frank Djurasevic. It was Langlois' and Djjurasevic's 2nd assist of the night.

After regulation the game was tied at 4-4. Holt's game-winner was assisted by Justin Poirier who ended the night with 2 goals and an assist.

Maine outshot BU 35-28. Albin Boija, now 4-1-1 on the season turned away 24 shots.

Maine was 0-5 on the power play while BU was 1-4.

Maine is now 4-2-1 overall and 1-0 in Hockey East, while BU is 3-4-1 overall and 1-2-0 in Hockey East. The 2 teams will play Saturday night, November 1st at the Alfond. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. Tune into 92.9 The Ticket for the pregame beginning at 7 p.m. with Jon Shields and Larry Mahoney..
