32 of Maine's best amateur golfers will go at it head-to-head in the 2019 Maine Match Play Championship at Point Sebago GC in Casco.

The defending champ and the runner up, Cole Anderson and Drew Powell are not in the field. Anderson is playing college golf at Florida State while Powell is playing at Duke.

Former Husson University All-American Joe Alvarez is in the Match Play field. He won this event when it was brought back on the MSGA schedule 10 years ago. He has the highest match win percentage (66.7%) among golfers who have played in all nine championships.

Among the other players in the field, the Maine Junior champ, Caleb Manuel and 2018 Maine Senior champ, Len Cole.

NOTE: The round of 32 gets reduced to 16 in the morning round. The round of 16 will be in the afternoon. The remaining eight golfers return to play on Wednesday.
